UCL (University College London) is one of UK?s premier universities and a world-class research and teaching institution based in London with an annual turnover approaching Ł500 million and involvement in more than 400 EU-funded research collaborations. As part of UCL, the Institute for Women?s Health is a leading British academic research institution for perinatal care and has an international reputation in many areas of child health including outcome evaluation. It is currently involved as a partner in national multicentre epidemiological outcome studies (e.g. UK - EPICure, Ireland - BASELINE) and randomised trials (BOOST-2 UK, OPPTIMUM, PROGRAMS, TOBY) and European studies (TRUFFLE, NEMO). University College London Hospital (UCLH) has a large level III perinatal centre with a specific interest in perinatal brain injury.
Professor Neil Marlow and Dr Sam Johnson have wide experience of perinatal outcome evaluation, including the UK EPICURE Studies (MRC: NM Chief Investigator) and a range of UK and European Clinical Trials involving outcome assessment of direct relevance to this project. (1-5)
